Could be. Like I said, I'm not a trader. I paid 100k+5e for my Kuunie about 6 - 7 months ago. I got the Lich for free from a player that was quitting the game and decided to hold a trivia contest for his pets. I thought the Lich was selling at 100k+ at the time, but with more entering the market each day it makes sense that it will have a price drop. (Is the Bone Dragon still over 100k?)

This is where you went wrong...I don't remember the guys name, not that it matters, but there was the guy who had found a req8 Crystalline from the now extinct Mary Poppins chest. He was going to sell UNID'ed but then a friend of his told him how to test it, this was all posted on the high end threads. So, he did test it and it was in fact a 15^50 that was sold for 3300 ectos, if I remember correctly. This was well before the duping days, and I totally agree with the people posting, that indeed there have been individuals with stacks of ectos from a very early point in GW history.

In short, get over it.

I want to explain how it is possible to have so much money and how it is possible that other do not believe that they earned this money legal. Take me for example... maybe i am one of the richest 10 GW gamers but that is not cause i am so good or cause i farm so lot.... no that is cause i am a hard power trader from hour one of Guild Wars and cause i spended over 10.000 hours on this game and cause i am trading whole the day. if you get a starting money about 200k which is easy to get you will be able to make in one week 1000k with trading. than you buy as cheap as you can ectos for 900 k and you have your first 200ectos and 100k. now you check wich items are selling good and which of em you can afford atm. From now its on you to buy the weapon or pets at the minimum price and sell for the maximum price that will take your time and i mean really much of your time. Selling the Eternal Blade takes about 50+ hours till now and not sold till this moment. If you are clever and act like this its possible to make 100-500 ectos profit each day and if you have enough ectos you have to buy yourself Ambraces. if you do this for many many month you will earn your 100+++ Ambraces and if you start to bid at very hot high end items with your XTREME hard earned money some guys like you will start flaming and... Not a big thing but that is how it works. Dont look negative to someone who is nearly online 24/7 he is working hard for the money and can be proud of it. And if some Items (which are maybe the only ones in the whole Game with 5 million active Gamers) are going in auctions or will be sold ingame or somewhere else... do you think they go for 100+5 ectos only that a hobby gamers can afford it... no it wont. It will be sold for the very very maximum prices that maybe can be afforded from 30-40 gamers of the 5 million comunity. Please rethink it and look from other perspectives at the whole thing maybe i was able to open your eyesBest Regards from....a serious Gamer with 10.000+++ gaming hours and 12 chars......
So pritty much what your saying is if you want to be UBER RICH not just rich you have to do what nearly every decent person on the planet says is wrong. On top of that you have to play for 10 hours a day not doing anything but sitting in town spamming WTS. It would seem from the wording of your post you are either a junior high or high school kid with no after school activities or a part time job, which in this case I could see how you play for 10 hours a day.

I will put a good example in for what im saying.

(these are 2 real gas stations less than a mile down the street from my house and these are the real prices.)
2 gas stations at the same intersection.

I will put it simple 3 kinds of food items from the same manufacture
1 is a Clark station family owned by the people who barely speak english and are always on the phone.
these are the prices
12 pack of Coca cola=7.99
A little debby brownie= 50 cents
A single 12 ounce can of pepsi=75 cents

1 is a BP run by a GM who sets the prices according to a code and hires all kinds of people.
these are the Prices
12 pack of Coca cola=4.99
A little debby brownie=25 cents
A single 12 ounce can of pepsi=40 cents

This way of doing business is for the cold hearted and bitter. Decent people would not take advantage of people like this.

And about the bold I dont think it is that we are looking at you with negetivity it is have you put any thought about moveing out of your parents basement and getting a job and doing something with your life? It is understandable to play video games for a few hours a day or less or more on the weekend, but to literally waste your life for a VIRTUAL acheivement shows a huge sign of addiction. The people who play this much are the people we hear about in the news that let there children die of starvation because they were stuck in a non stop gaming fest or die in a internet cafe. Both of which are true and have been in the news for some time which has now made video game addiction a real medical problem. I think the entire community is saying Seek help from a Therapist being this addicted to a game is going to kill you.

You have opened my eyes I see the fat kid from the WOW south park episode, this man must have no life at all he is killing our admins. someone bring me the sword of a thousand truths!!
nothing to be proud of or even brag about here you just showed you have a large problem.

I am sorry for my posts earlier I completly forgot about these kind of people and was a little angry. I was simply putting the Idea in everyones head.
Hope everyone understands what im saying here even tho I put it pritty simple. the lesson is If you spend more than half a day playing a computer game maybe you should get some help this goes for everyone who plays like this.
But this applys to all aspects of life.
Drink but Drink in moderation.

Wrong

It was never sold for that.

The winner of the sword was going to purchase the gold at the end of the week when his pay cheque cleared... So the people bidding never actually had the ecto required.

However, there was a mass bot ban shortly before.

Gold prices rocketed.

Trade never went through.

O and um, the two people in the bidding war were far from legit lool. Lots of fake bids too as my friends were doing them.

Please get your facts right...

Crystalline Swords R8 15>50 sold for 100k +1750 Ecto before and after that thread.

O, if the R8 15>50 Crystalline Sword is worth 3000 ecto. Then please tell me why a few months prior to the duping crap I was the highest current offer holder on one which was 100k +1750 ecto. Where is all those 3000 ecto offers???

In short, your wrong

Er, I think I know full well that people are capable of having legit stacks of ecto lol. What with me having ecto stacks and everything... I never disagreed that people could not have legit ecto stacks.

Please list all the legit trades where 1750+ ecto was traded pre-duping. I cannot think of any I doubt you would be able to tell what is legit and what isnt though as you didnt know that the main bidders on the R8 15>50 Crystalline Sword you mentioned use real life money to fund their GW purchases...

The people attacking my post need to read it again. I MADE OVER 500,000 GOLD PLAYING CASUALLY WITH NO TRADES AND FARMING, JUST PLAYING THE MISSIONS AND DOING QUESTS! If I had farmed I would easily be in the millions. And that is FARMING. Everyone knows rich people don’t farm, they power trade. So if I started power trading I could easily be bringing in close to ten million. every month. LEARN TO PLAY GUILD WARS BETTER!

Dupers are still among us. Do you really think Arena Net can go check every trade that has occurred? No, they only looked at a small portion.

Now if you see a high end thread it will be infested with what seems like dozens of random people with tons of armbraces.

Before all this duping crap occurred Panda were selling for like around 1000 ecto.

The people with the xx armbraces and able to drop them on a single trade either duped or made incredible amounts of gold as a result of the duping.

There is no way a player could afford to drop 1500 ecto + xx armbraces on a single trade without somehow being involved in the duping shit. Either was a duper or traded with dupers or those who did.

Nosferatu1976: Any reliability you had disappeared when you said you have never heard of Malice Black and supposedly have traded for ages. MB is like one of the old school power traders...
This is basically what Ive been thinking all the time I've been reading this thread.

I've been reading Ventari's sell/high end forum since July 2005 and I agree with Herb I don't remember seeing any bids over 100k +1750 ectos for any items, but since the duping scandal the bids for items have gone through the roof and from lots of new people.

Whether this is duped items that people hid on various accounts or lots of people eBaying I don't know but it seems strange about all the apparent sudden wealth in game.

Remember Anet's warning before GWEN was released about buying gold online? I bet people were buying a lot of gold, and now there is nothing left to spend it on except rare items.

WTS My Plasma Blade :P

I love Herbie and Undead..... 2 of the nicest people in this game.

Short and sweet.

Dupers did survive the great ANET purge and frolic around in the high end forums. --FACT

ALSO Id like to add...... Think about this... The Rich become Rich from being smart and taking advantage whether ethical or not of situations. Do you think that some people who were allready rich before duping didnt take advantage and join in themselves ???
Its easier to hide wealth where wealth already existed.

Who are these pre searing cadets and ascalon explorers that just show up in high end and offer on everything and anything... hmmm

To be fair a few did actually earn the money ripping people of in LA then making money of them . I remember that gold-purchase story, takes me back..... can remember laughing for ages about it.... good ol' days.

..how long have you been playing this game?!
1. you can't 'power trade' anymore, BECAUSE of all the gold buyers etc.
2. anet didn't ban people that are known dupers...and they are still playing to this day.
3. learn to play guild wars better? come on

1. Yes, you can. There are still many noob dupers still around. You even admit this in your quote.

2. I already said that.

3. This may not apply to you. I don't know you. But it applies to the people going Wow, how does someone have that much gold? Getting GW gold is too easy.

Pizowned on all 3 points, better luck next time kid.

Have you power traded? Do you have any experience in power trading? How many hours did it take to make the 500k gold? I would love to know the answers to these questions.

10 million every month. Wow thats pretty impressive. At the peak of my power trading game I could only make 1 million profit every 10 days. I am sure you can do much much better though... Even though power trading sucks now...

Yes, I have power traded. Yes, I have experiance power trading. It took me a little less then 100 hours to make the 500k, by only playing the game, with NO TRADING OR FARMING for the thousandth time.

There has been a large increase in the number of retarded rich people due to massive dupping. It's not that difficult to get someone to buy something off you, just use a little salesmenship. If anything I would say this is an awesome time to power trade.

to agree with Herbalizer...

as for power trading... depends how much u work at it.... 1mil profit in 10days was easy, now and days its alittle slower, but it all comes down to what u get and sell...

you don't get it, do you? the people who have duped/ebayed will overpay for an item because they know someone else who will pay more. therefore, you can not get anything to resell for profit that is worth any time.

QFT, both Jhadur and Herb.

I'm a long-time GW player and a 2-bit auctioner (>300 rating on Guru, mostly selling crap that drops). I've been following 100k+ and high-end items since 2005. Anyone who has can tell you that most items have seen a general deflation since the introduction of inscriptions. The only exception are req 7, req 8, and the ultra high. Req 7 have gone up, req 8 have stabilized, and ultra-high-end have gone through the roof.

There is absolutely no explanation as to how this obscene amount of money could have been created in such a short time. Funny how it coincides with the duping exploit....

Highlighted the nice consistency in your posts. Oh and 100 hours of just playing the game with no trading or farming to make 500k, maybe possible but I doubt it.
